Afghanistan Taliban Stay on Promises

The Taliban of Afghanistan to keep his promise. They started "spring offensive" in Kandahar. Interestingly, as the AP and AFP news on Saturday (07/05/2011), Kandahar is the birthplace of the Taliban. Not only that, Kandahar is the center of resistance to Western-backed Afghan government, including foreign troops. The Taliban had said that it would increase attacks against foreign troops and Afghan government officials.
This time, the Taliban bombed the Kandahar provincial governor's office. Armed groups in the shopping center of Kandahar city involved a shootout with security forces in the compound of the governor Tooryalai Wesa.
Two explosions heard in the city, one of them near the complex. Not yet clear whether the governor was in the complex. Witnesses said black smoke from the complex to see the governor Wesa.
